Big Game Enhancement Packages
The big game enhancement package consists of one license each for deer, elk, pronghorn antelope, oryx and Persian ibex. Two authorization packages will be auctioned to the highest bidders for the 2013-2014 season. One package will be auctioned during the Wild Sheep Foundation's National Convention at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, NV, Jan. 30 - Feb.2, 2013. The other package will be auctioned during the annual Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Elk Camp, Feb. 28 - March 3, 2013 at the Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV.
The bag limits are one fork-antlered deer, one mature bull elk, one oryx of either sex, one ibex of either sex, and one mature buck pronghorn (see page 10 of the 2013-2014 Big Game and Trapper Rules and Information booklet for bag limit definitions).
All hunts are for any legal sporting arm (specific weapons restrictions in certain areas still apply). Licenses will be valid on all public lands where hunting is allowed, and private land with written permission. For oryx, winning bidders must contact New Mexico Game & Fish two weeks in advance of the proposed hunt start date to schedule access to WSMR, and must be accompanied by a badged department employee or WSMR escort when on WSMR lands.
The season dates are September 1, 2013 through January 31, 2014 for deer and elk, April 1, 2013 through March 31, 2014 for ibex and oryx, and August 1 through November 1, 2013 for pronghorn.

Bighorn Sheep Enhancement Licenses
The Wild Sheep Foundation (WSF) assists the Department with the auction of two bighorn sheep licenses, and the New Mexico Chapter of the Wild Sheep Foundation (NMWSF) assists
the Department with a raffle of
two bighorn sheep licenses each year. Proceeds from the auction
and raffle are used for bighorn sheep research, management and
propagation in New Mexico.
One license to hunt Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, and a second license to hunt desert bighorn sheep will be auctioned
during the WSF's National Convention at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, NV, Jan. 30 - Feb. 2, 2013.

The auction winners choose one of the available hunts (see pages 90-91 of the 2013-2014 Big Game and Trapper Rules and Information booklet for hunt details).
Two licenses will be awarded through a raffle: one for a Rocky Mountain bighorn, and one for a desert bighorn. The raffle winners choose
one of the remaining hunts not chosen by the auction winner. The
license fee is included for the successful raffle winners. Raffle tickets will be sold through NMWSF for $20 each. Deadline to purchase tickets is June 15. One elk authorization will be auctioned to the highest

Deer Enhancement Licenses

RMEF will conduct the auction at their annual RMEF Elk Camp, Feb. 28 - March 3, 2013 at the Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. The licenses are valid from Sept. 1, 2013 through Jan. 31, 2014 with any
legal sporting arm.

A second authorization will be raffled through the Mule Deer Foundation. The licenses are valid from Sept. 1, 2013 through Jan. 31, 2014 with any
legal sporting arm.

Gould's Turkey Enhancement Permits
The National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) assists the Department of Game and Fish with an auction and raffle of two authorizations for Gould’s turkey licenses each year.
Proceeds from the auction and raffle are used for turkey
research and management in New Mexico. The licenses
are authorized for use from April 15 - May 10, 2013 with any
legal sporting arm (see page 95 of the 2013-2014 Big Game and Trapper Rules and Information

NWTF will conduct the auction at their annual Convention and Sport Show, Feb. 14-17, 2013 at the Gayland Opreyland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, TN . Please visit the NWTF website at www.nwtf.org for more information.
A second authorization will be raffled through the New Mexico Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation. Tickets can be purchased for $5 each. The drawing will be held on March 1, 2013 in Las Cruces, NM. You need not be present to win.
Both the auction and raffle winners will receive one authorization to hunt Gould's Turkey. Along with the Gould's tag, each winner will be issued a New Mexico spring turkey hunting license that also includes 2 spring turkey tags. This gives each winner a total of three turkey tags and the opportunity to take a New Mexico Slam (Gould's, Merriam's, and Rio Grande).
