Cow elk killed and left near Mora, NM

TWO POACHED ELK - Mora

New Mexico Department of Game and Fish investigators are looking for information that would assist them in solving a case in which two cow elk were illegally killed February 18th, 2008 near Mora.   Game and Fish Officers found the two elk near mile marker 23 on Hwy 434. Officers believe that the two cow elk were killed with the aid of artificial lights, and then only the quarters were taken.
