Education:

B.S. degree in Wildlife Biology and Fisheries Science from Eastern New Mexico University.

 

Length of Service:

10 years, including co-op time on the San Juan River.

 

Specialty or Interest:

Fly-fishing, hiking, snorkeling, swimming, weightlifting, hunting, cooking and eating.

 

Current Projects/Assignments:

National Archery in the Schools Program, Hunter Education, outdoor events including Outdoor Expo in Albuquerque, National Hunting and Fishing Day in Santa Fe, teaching defensive tactics, assisting areas with law enforcement duties.

 

Best Thing About the Job:

Working with the youth of New Mexico to recruit and retain future anglers and hunters and accomplishing this through outreach events that promote and enhance youth exposure to shooting sports, outdoor recreation and fishing. At the same time, this introduces youth to lifelong activities that foster a positive experience that will promote mental and physical health in conservation and outdoor recreation. These activities will increase the educational opportunities of all students in the public schools. If we change some lives or communities along the way, that would be icing on the cake!

I am currently working with 25 schools and that number is growing.
